Seventh Heaven
You would think that a cocktail named Seventh Heaven had too many ingredients to mention, but it’s really simple! Gin, grapefruit juice, and Luxardo liqueur make up this happy hour libation. It couldn’t be easier!

This gin drink is definitely an oldie and goodie. Harry Craddock describes it in his book The Savoy Cocktail Book. I can’t recommend this book enough – it’s like time travel. Through delicious, tasty history. However, Harry’s version is not quite in the same proportions. It seems that over time, we have decided that more Luxardo is better, as well as more gin, and more juice. Go figure?

What’s up with the Seventh Heaven?
One way to describe this drink is to call it “cherry forward”. But it’s not, really! It’s more Luxardo forward. There’s tang, floral elements from the Luxardo, and it’s also quite “ginny”.
This drink does call for a mint garnish – which is fine, I suppose. It won’t do you much good if you hate mint. If you sort of like mint, throw a sprig in there. If you really like mint, spank or smack the mint in the palm of your hand to release the minty goodness. It’s great on the nose!
