Blue Moon Gin Cocktail
The Blue Moon gin cocktail is really quite the looker, and it will absolutely knock you down. There’s nothing subtle about this drink, at all. It’s gin forward, bold, gorgeous, and tasty, to boot. It’s also really simple, quick to make, and just a lovely bright addition to your hand.
Because the gin flavors really come through here, choose a gin that you love. I wanted a bold purple color, too, so I use Empress gin which is already purple. You may find that clear gin will give you a pale purple or even gray looking drink, thanks to the Creme de Violette. A lemon twist certainly adds a bit of bright contrast, as well.

How to make the Blue Moon Gin Cocktail
Do start with a gin that you love. Preferably one that goes along with Violette flavors, so perhaps avoid the wickedly herbal and spicy gins out there. A smooth citrus, floral, or lightly spiced gin would be just fine.
Do use fresh lemon juice. This gives your gin drink a bit of depth and texture, especially if you don’t strain it too much. Which I don’t recommend, but if you’re in a pinch, you are in a pinch.
Do adjust the amounts! Creme de Violette has a bit of a sweet flavor. Start with a little, and then turn up the volume if you want more sweetness in your glass.
Let your lemon twist become a bit more influential by expressing the oil into your glass.
Cheers!
